      <title>New Phone all works but receiving texts</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi All&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have setup a new ASUS phone and everything works fine with the exception that I can not receive texts. On occasion from certain people a text will come through but most never arrive&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;APN is set for Public Mobile but my understanding is that only affects MMS not SMS messages.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any help is appreciated.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;When you have trouble sending or receiving SMS, it's possible that&lt;SPAN class="Apple-converted-space"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;a ”force" change of your SMS settings may solve the issue. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;•Go to Settings&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;•Then go to Mobile networks and select a network other than Public Mobile, Telus, or Koodo&lt;SPAN class="Apple-converted-space"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;•When you exit the menu the phone should lose the network.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;•Repeat the process and select Public Mobile as your mobile network.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This procedure will force the update of the message centre number. You can verify it in your message settings.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes, that's right - APN settings have no effect on your ability to to send or receive text messages.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;As for the messege centre number (SMSC), to my knowledge, an incorrect setting would not prevent you from receiving a text message.&amp;nbsp; I beleive that an incorrect setting would only prevent you from sending them.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I would say that since you are receiving some text messages,&amp;nbsp; I really don't believe this to be a phone issue.&amp;nbsp; There are things could possibly prevent you from receiving some text messages (a contact being in your blocked list, notficiations being turned off, a software bug, etc.), but generally, there isn't anything that most could mess up in the settings that would prevent the receipt of messages.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I would check to see if it a specific carrier that you are have trouble receiving text messages from. Some of the the time, intercarrier messsages can be problematic.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
