Sorry for the Android fans... it’s a question for iphoners does it exist some app or something else which let you know when you received a MMS but your data are off? Thanks.

I am an android user but I will venture a really good educated guess. If the data is turned off, how can the phone poll the MMS proxy server for status? You can have it both ways. If data usage is a concern then turn off sync and app background data.
