If you are traveling to a country other than the US it will not work. For it to work in the US you need to purchase a seperate US-Roaming addon.

If you keep your account active when you come back it will work. If your away for more that 90 days and to don't make any payments your account will be de-activated and you will need to signup again with a new SIM.

If international, you'd need another prepaid SIM and you'd need to ensure that it works on the country/location you're travelling on. You could try to use Fongo calling and/or Text me for calls and texts over wifi but you'd need to have steady access to a wifi signal. What type of phone and what country?
