Roaming data not working

I've set my APN parameters to what is recommended for my phone in this forum.

I have a Samsung Galaxy note 8, updated to the new Pie OS. I paid $20 for the talk and text + 250mb roaming data plan. I can receive texts and make calls but my data isn't working. I am in Hawaii, if that helps.

Please someone help me!

Are you sure about the make calls?

Can you receive calls?

Can you send texts?

Is the add-on showing in lower part of your overview page?

Do you still have the $20 in your Available Funds?

@jameschambers, have you enabled roaming data on your phone? Search this function from the settings menu.

Does your phone possibly have a seperate setting for data roaming that needsto be turned on?

Did you get a text from Public Mobile welcoming you to the states?

If not then you probably need to manually scan for and connect to either AT&T or T-Mobile.

Alright good.

There might be an overall setting that blocks you from roaming to begin with as well.

If you can make calls, but not data, it is most likely due to roaming setting on your phone then.

SOLVED!! several layers of settings caused the problem. Data roaming was off, the APN settings needed to be changed and my personal favorite, 'my partner turned the general mobile data setting to off' which disabled me from changing the APN which disabled me from turning on the roaming data setting!

Now back to the vacation I can't afford (which is why I have public mobile!)
