account setup and taxes

I'm based in Yellowknife, NT and am trying to set up a new account. I'm transferring a number, and it wants to charge me 12% tax, but I should onlybe paying 5% for the NT. Any thoughts on this?

Why do you say it want to charge you 12%? Where can you see that?

I was picking a plan, looking at getting a 90 day plan for $135, and tax in this is showing a $16.20, should be more like $6.75 for the Northwest Territores.

yes, from NT, I also live in NT.

Taxation rate is based on the province that the phone number is from. You are correct that there is no provincial/territorial element to sales tax there. If the phone number is also from the NWT, this is a mistake on the Public Mobile end. Only the moderators can help you with this, and would possibly have to issue a credit or refund to compensate for the mistake. In addition, if this is a consistent error, Public Mobile would have to get the sales tax rate corrected for the future.
