@Farjy It's a small adjustment but I believe as of May 9 you would receive $4/30 days for loyalty. https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Rewards/Eligible-rewards-for-those-on-grandfathered-plans/m-p/745#M21

You currently don't have data so I am sure the 3G speed will be fine. I have have the provincial version of the plan you are considering with a long distance add-on as mimmo suggested.

If you do nothing your $28 will go to $31 not $33/30 days.

Good luck.

I am a legacy customer and I was asked to either switch with koodo or stay with public with 5$ of incrrease ! It’s really dissapointing! Increasing the monthly bill is just unfair for ppl like us who has been with PM for 7 years ! I want to ask you guys should I go with Koodo ? Or what will I do ? I feel very bad to quit with public by can’t pay more 😭

Hey @Farjy,

There is a 3rd option: Change your plan to one of the current in-market plan with PM.

Have a look: https://publicmobile.ca/en/on/plans

The 90-day talk and text plans are most likely cheaper than anywhere else.

What makes this deal better is that you become eligible for rewards. Your loyalty reward will be $3 per 30 days and if you enrol in autopay, that is another $2. To change the plan, you have to call 611 because the new PM plans are online-only... no more call center once you switch. You have to mangae you account by yourself by either getting help through this community forum or by signing into your selfserve account. Forum mods are online 7 days a week and can be reached via private messages if you need help with your account.

Transferring to Koodo is good too as you retain the call center support.. if that is really important to you. BUT, Koodo plans are postpaid. So you will be switching from PM's preapid plan to Koodo postpaid which involves a credit check.

Staying on your current plan and paying $33/month seems like the least desirable option... probably on purpose by PM. BUT, if you want to avoid a credit check at all cost, AND having a call center access is absolute must for you, then $33/month on the current plan is your only option. Depending on your province, there may be other carriers you may wish to look into as well.

I have put the in-market plan options in the post I linked to.

Before you make a decision, you should also look at what other providers are offering as you may find a deal elsewhere. Because you are not on contract you can go to any provider. If your phone is locked to the Telus network, it can be unlocked for free now.

Thanks a lot for replying !although I have a good credit score but I really don’t want to check them . Yes being a legacy customer I get the access to call 611 but honestly I never had to call them that much ( calling them talking with a robot )How about if I create my plan for 3 months like this ! This will be exact the plan that I have right now ! Only I will be paying 35$ per month if they accept me for loyality and get auto pay rewards ! Let me know plese !

I have have the provincial version of the plan you are considering with a long distance add-on as mimmo suggested.

If you do nothing your $28 will go to $31 not $33/30 days.

Good luck.
