Just received this weird text , not sure what is the spammer trying to pull, even the link appears to be the original one.

I don't think it is a scam in itself (unless they asked you for something back, anything else to the story?)

It's a Rogers cell phone

Most scammers use fake voip numbers

And there is no harm at all in going to that link it is an actual link

thats the funny thing the linkg just sends you to the telus website, so I am confused of what is the reason of the text lol

Links can be disguised and will redirect you to a page to enter your bank account log in. Which then leads to them stealing your money. I never click on stuff if I can't verify the source.

While those responsible for sending such a message might not be trying to steal any of your personal data, a link that goes to the website that it appears to be the same as in the clickable link could the result of an some type of affiliate link being at work. Owners of some websites get paid when someone gets redirected to a company's website and makes a purcahse. I link could be acting in a way similar to a banner ad.

Click it and give false information.

If everyone were to give false info, eventually the banks/police would trace the location of a high number of failed attempts for multiple accounts. Plus the phisher would get annoyed as it would now take too much work to find one card / account info that works among all the garbage.

While this sounds like a fun idea, I wouldn't probably recommend it , because you never now what kind of scripts any page is loading and you don't even have to do anything before you get infected
