Just noticed this on the payment page of my account: "Credit or Visa Debit payments include taxes based on the applicable province of your phone number. GST/HST# 10065 2692, QST# 10029 28058. Click here for Provincial and Federal tax rates".

This also answers the question of what constitutes your "official" home province.

Yes, that makes perfect sense. The taxes that you are charged is based on your "home province". So I pay 5% GST on my plan, which means my home province is in Alberta.

Great find Luddite!

And the tax is charged based on the area code of your phone number. Pretty sure that if you have Alberta number and you live in Ontario, you would be charged 5% Alberta tax. This works the same with the koodo systems.
