I ported out my public mobile number to Telus approximately 2 hours ago and my new Telus SIM still is showing up as unregistered. I have rebooted the phone and have removed and re-inserted the SIM card numerous times.

I am unable to log into my public mobile account anymore so I take it the port would have been successfull?

Just wondering if there may be any underlying issues with my account.

@ajinnah unregistered SIM is not likely anything to do with the port. Since your PM account deactivated, I would say the port itself was successful, but unregistered SIM likely means one of 3 possible things:

1) your phone could be locked to a network other than Telus. However, if you were previously using this same phone with Public Mobile, this is definitely NOT the cause of the issue.

2) it's conceivable you have a defective SIM card. I know sometimes the PM ones arrive DOA; I'd imagine the Telus ones must occasionally as well.

3) could be an activation issue where your Telus account did not completely register correctly.

#2 definitely would not prevent the port from succeeding so I'd say it's probably most likely cause. #3 might interfere with the port or might not, depending how far along in the activation that the glitch occurred. Either way, a call to Telus should help figure out if it's an account (activation) issue, and if not, then you'll likely need a replacement SIM card.
