Texting not working on Iphone 6S

Hi, i recently joined Public Mobile. I unlocked a rogers Iphone 6S and now have public mobile actively working on my phone. I was able to switch APN settings to get LTE network and everything. This is all great but it cannot get outgoing texts to send (SMS). iMessage still works obviously. Please help, i have restored it twice now hoping that would help but i got nothing

@ABrown Try turning off iMessage and Reset Network Settings.

make sure you arent using imessage when sending the cell text message, and setting is correct.

Have you tried resetting your network settings? I have an iphone 6S and it worked fine.

Name: Public Mobile
APN: sp.mb.com
Proxy: Leave blank
Port: Leave blank
Username: Leave blank
Password: Leave blank
Server: Leave blank
MMSC:

MMSC proxy: 74.49.0.18
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 220
Authentication type: Leave blank
APN type: Leave blank

Step 3:

Select Save/Done. Select Public Mobile to connect to the Public Mobile network

@ABrown Correct iPhone settings: Settings >> Messages >> iMessage ON, Send as SMS ON, MMS ON >> Send & Receive should show your current PM phone number and your iCloud email address.

Still not able to text. I reset network settings and turned on and off all message options.

When i try and correct network settings i only get three options.

APN:

username:

Passord:

I dont get the rest of the options to change.

I input the APN correction but that hasnt solved the issue.

What should i try next.

Do you get a notification on your phone saying "Cannot send Message; iMessage needs to be enabled to send this message"? This is an issue I'm currently having when trying to text friends with iPhones

I have talk/text plan only with no data, and wasn't able to send text messages as SMS outside of wifi. I turned off the cellular/data icon in settings and then it worked.
