Being that second-tier sister carrier Koodo doesn't have esim yet, it doesn't seem like PM will get it any time soon. If Koodo gets it, there would be a few months in between if Telus decides to have it on PM. As of right now there was no announcement on esim coming to PM.

Simpley means dual SIM. You have one physical SIM card and your second is elecronic. Though phone will only have one slot for SIM card the esim will allow for a second SIM on phones that support esim and have only one sim slot.

This provider with no-customer-service does not even have VoLTE or VoWi-Fi yet. You can expect eSIM in a decade or two.

I think the definition of what has been described for eSim being a dual system is completely wrong....

First of all Sim means Subscriber Identity Module. This is how you can connect to a carrier, your phone number and various other identifiers on a little plastic chip you put into your phone.

eSim is an electronic version of this chip soldered onto your cell phone. Hence it is completely programmable. You take a photo of the QR code and instead of going to a website it provides the eSim with all the information to connect you to a carrier with a number.

Why is this important.... bcs there are many other types of devices that use eSim. Like a iWatch, Cars, Medical health devices and so on. Telus already has the technolgoy to implement this, as does Rogers and Bell. Even Freedom mobile has this already.....

The future is one number rings on many different devices or communicates with other devices....... or one number one account!
