Hello,

I lost my SIM card yestarday and I bought a new one and was able to transfer and replace the new sim card with the one that I had lost however the new SIM card currently does not work. Ever time I insert it in my phone it says "No Sim" on top left hand corner of my phone. I have tried every thing but can't seem to find the right soulution. I am wondering if there is a 24 hour waiting period for the new sim to be activated or is it suppose to be activate right away when changed and replaced through my account? I am wondering if I should return the sim and try replacing it through my account one more time with a brand new sim or simply just wait a day ?

SIM card activation is immediate. There's definitely some sort of issue. Try the SIM card in a different device, see if it works.

@peterbuilt777, it should work right away. I just went through this with my wife's phone and it was working pretty much instantly after activation in online account. You lost just the SIM? Did you report your phone or sim lost or stolen in the online account. If you have reported it lost or stolen I am not sure if you have to do something there first to be able to activate a new sim.

Hello to All,

thank you for taking the time to reply to my concern. I believe, I lost it somewhere at home so that is why I did not report it stolen. SIM card was bought from Walmart. I have tried inserting it in another IPhone but it still did not work. I'm going to try to replace it with the same SIM card number in case I typed the wrong SIM card number. if that does not work, I will return it and get a new SIM and see if that option may work.

Thank you to all for your responses.

Yeah, hopefully this gets resolved soon.

Do try it in another device and see what happens.

We need to work backwards sometimes to see where the issue is.

If the phone says "no sim", this means that the phone cannot detect a sim card in the slot.

If the phone says "registered sim", this means that the phone detects the sim card but it has not been activated or not connected to a cell network.

To all the that took the time and effort to respond. Thank you. The problem has been resolved. I tried 4 different phones and all of them said "No Sim". I had to go back to Walmart and return the SIM card and get a new one which worked immediately. It was the SIM card which was faulty which had to be replaced again.
