I don't recommend this but I once printed out a nano sim template and cut it with scissors. I only needed it to unlock a phone as it was another carrier sim. It worked for that but I'm not sure if anything else worked.

I would say play on the safe side and just buy a new tri-sim.

@datha, If you know someone with a SIM cutter then I would give it a shot I have done a couple and had no issues. As long as there was a new SIM close by like a Walmart or WOW nothing to really worry about or lose by giving it a try. If you are doing it by hand I wouldn't recommend that way though.

I don't recommend this but I once printed a paper template for the nano sim and used scissors to cut it across the lines. I think it worked, but not sure since I just needed another carrier sim to unlock my phone which it did the trick. Seems like people on youtube use an exacto knife.

I would caution on the safe side as the rest have said and just buy the $10 tri punch sim.

Maybe print out a picture to scale on nano sim and use as guide. Also there are cutters on eBay you couple buy

SIM cutting is butchery. A buddy has a SIM cutter and I have seen it in action. It leave really rough edges that can be smoothed out with a nail file. But then too much filing and size changes. For $10, why risk having a SIM stuck in the tray?

I have done it manuallly 3 times 2 times it worked 1 it didn't.

I used an old one as a template and did it manually. saved myself 20$ worst case i woould have to go to walmart and buy a new sim.

it all depends on how risk adverse your are. just don't cut off a finger.
