Refurbished factory unlocked google pixel 2xl

So I was looking for unlocked phone to upgrade to. Found this Pixel XL2 on ebay: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Google-Pixel-2-XL-64GB-Just-Black-Unlocked-New-Refurbished-NO-ACCESSORIES/323595687867?hash=item4b57ce57bb:g:-QAAAOSw8fRbO~qx

It is a verizon model which doesn't I work with public mobile BUT it says it was factory unlocked after refurbishing. Does that mean it is actually compatible now? Any help would be great

Based on the frequences that Verizon uses and that Telus/Bell use, it should in theory work fine. It's kind of risky because only one of the frequences is common though. You probably could root and mod the phone to accept other frequencies as it is likely only a soft lock (if it even exists) rather than lacking the hardware.

Yeah the phone will work on Public Mobile.
