Seems my bookmarks have disappeared when I switched to Public.

Is that because they were on my previous SIM card ?

Is there a way to get the bookmarks back into my phone ?

Usually bookmarks stay with the browser.

Put your previous SIM card back in your phone. If it is stored in your old SIM card, it will be still there.

By bookmarks do you mean bookmarks in your browser?

Which phone are you using and which browser?

Bookmarks are part of your phone. Did you change your phone set?

If you have an iphone, you can access your bookmarks from icloud OR if you have an apple computer, you can find your phone bookmarks backed up here
