Problem with 437 area code

I live in Mississauga and my father just got a new phone number with area code 437 in Toronto. I have fall promo plan but I cannot call him. It said I don't have long distance add on and call cannot be completed. I contacted a mod on Wed. he/she sent ma a ticket number (#000000008046482). The mod said it will take upto 72 hours to get an answer. But I still cannot make a call the number and no one answered me yet.

There's not much that can be done right now, gotta let the moderator team do their work. In the mean time, try a calling app.

I have 437 area code too, no problem here in GTA all my friends able to call me without paying LD

Try calling a different exchange in the 437 area code. Perhaps it's a newer exchange that hasn't been registered with PM yet.

437 is a weird one. Maybe you can search again and see if you can get him a 647 number. I signed someone up recently and was able to search and get them a 647. Sometime, searching again would show you an available 647 number. Alternately, you can just get them an easy 905 number.

If nothing works you may have to send a private message to @CS_Agent providing the phone number and explaining your situation.

Nothing wrong with 437, just new area code, all my contact able to call me without paying LD charged

Have you tried dialing with +1 in front of the number? I don't mean just the 1, but rather plus sign and the 1.

I am unable to call any 437 number as well. A message plays saying that it is a long distance number and outside of my calling area. 437 = Toronto how can it be outside of Ontario? .. There are multiple threads on this since Dec 2016, it should not take 8 months to recognize a new area code especially when new numbers being provided by PM in Toronto are 437 numbers.

I am in Mississauga, a friend got a new 437 number in Mississauga and I cannot call him from my 647 number. It says I do not have long distance add on. That is frustrating.

My other friends are able to call this 437 number from their 416 phones

That must be frustrating. For anyone wondering, 437 and 647 area codes are all Toronto phone numbers. There isn't any place in Mississauga that could possibly be long distance to call from to place a call to a Toronto phone number. You'll need to get a moderator to help you with this.

Have you attempted to dial +1437xxxyyyy ? Give that a shot. It may complete properly by doing so.

As it’s a new number, there is also the chance that the rules for calling into the local exchange within 437 hasn’t been properly configured (this happened to me with a local new number) in the local exchange for your number.

POTS calling rules still exist in the cellular area. Province-Wide calling at PM isn’t local calling all the time, it’s still long distance to call Toronto from Windsor. Heck, it’s long distance for me to call Cambridge to Brantford, which is physically closer to me, than Simcoe to Brantford.
