Yeah, not too many people know what Public Mobile is. Maybe they need more ad. campaigns here in Vancouver. 😛 But as for Wow Mobile, they have a booth in Aberdeen Centre.

I do like the fact that you can get sim cards at WOW! though, because as someone posted above, when a new promo rolls around it will be easy to grab if the price is right. My sister ordered a SIM card the same time I did, but when I ran into major issues with porting from FM, she held off. Now the morning (yesterday) that my phone actually started working they jacked the prices and shes stuck with one.

Public Mobile SIM cards are coming to Wow! Mobile locations

Public Mobile SIM cards are set to soon be available at Wow! Mobile kiosks and stores, according to leaked internal documents obtained by MobileSyrup.

As of July 21st, Public Mobile SIM cards will be available at all Wow! locations. The document states that more information regarding the partnership is set to follow in the coming weeks.

Wow! Mobile is a joint retail effort by Rogers and Telus that launched back in 2013. The locations currently offer plans and devices from Rogers, Telus, Koodo, Fido and Chatr.

This announcement comes as Public Mobile offers new 3G plans and increases the price of its 4G plan offerings.

WOW is owned by Rogers and Telus so I assume that is why they are selling it there.

It makes sence now that PM is competeing directly with Chatr.

now all companies brands will be available at one place:

telus vs rogers

Koodo vs fido

PM vs Chatr

I wonder if they will start doing activations for PM and have access to fixing Porting and avtivation errors.

It is my understanding that WOW Mobile just sell PM SIM cards, no activation, no porting.

Well, I guess we do not have to wait for the other shoe to drop. Public Mobile is going the way of the other carriers, by affiliating with bricks and mortar businesses. This is the thin edge of the wedge for the new business model. This explains the huge price increase. The experiment is over.

on one hand this is what some of the community wanted i remember reading several post sell sim cards in telus stores, at gas stations or vending machines etc... they are now doing it, i wonder if any of those ideas will be changed from not for us to idea completed. 🙂

Just got my SIM card from WOW! @ Richmond Centre in BC. You are able to get them to activate for you or simply sell you the SIM card itself. The only reason I mention this is that initially when I came to them they said they had to activate it for me or they couldn't sell me the card.

NOTE: They will try to sell you on other plans/providers. I had to do everything to tear my self away from the sales person. Oy!

SIDE NOTE: For those living here, don't bother trying the Walmart on Garden City, they don't have them yet.
