I understand that when you call the US - it will go through - My question is:

What if you are in the US - will your calls go through? and at that time - will you only need US data plans? OR how does that work?

The Canada/USA calling plan only applies when you are calling while you are in Canada.

If you travel to the US, you would need to buy US add-ons in order to do anything.

...except receiving incoming texts--those will get to you in the USA even without any roaming add-ons.
