New phone

I have been a public mobile customer forever and have an Alcatel Onetouch phone that is very old. I am a very poor person but depend on having a phone and public mobile has never let me down. I just recenting was given a Fido phone from my father that is brand new and never been used a ZTE Z222. (yes till a little flip phone). Am I able to switch to the new phone and stay with public mobile.

@Lzakrajsek I edited my post with results of the search. I I terpet them as yes phone will work.

You will probably need to phone fido to get the unlock code to unlock the phone so you can use it with pm

Okay thank I will phone Fido. Once the phone is unlocked is it just a case of putting my sim card in the new phone??

1) phone fido get unlock code

2) inset pm sim in new phone (what sisize is your current sim is it bigger or smaller then the new phone

3) phone will say locked enter unlock code

4 enter the code fido gave you

5) phone is now unlocked

The sim card looks exactly the same size. My dad has to phone fido to get them to unlock it because they won't do it for me. Thank you so much for your help. Hopefully it works out. 🙂

I have to say that Rogers/Fido was not impressed that I was unlocking one of their phones to use with Public Mobile. Ha ha. I have been a Public Mobile subscriber for many many years. 8 I think? Anyway I am a Public Mobile girl for life or as long as they are around. The phone company I have ever dealt with. Thank you Public Mobile and community. 🙂
