Canceling Service Question

Long story short - I need to cancel my service with Public Mobile. Needed a new phone and it's cheaper to go through a big phone company and use a corporate discount than to buy a new phone and stay with PB.

My phone number is already ported over to my new phone but I can still see that I'm connected to PB on my old phone. I'm a bit confused because when I switched over to PB my old account was instantly cancelled. Also to note - all calls and texts go to the new phone.

So do I need to log into my account and cancel the account or will it be cancelled automatically? The account is set for autopay so I don't want to get charged extra

Remove your credit card info and disable autopay. The rest should take care of itself.

Not sure why ur old phone is still "active" mbybe he port has not completed 100%

I'm trying to log into my account but I fogot the password and keep getting this message using the forget your password link:

ForgotPassword/LoginUnsuccessfulUser_LoginDisabled

then when I get an email to reset my password I get this message:

Sorry, this page has a time limit which has expired. Please re-enter the old and new passwords and try again.

Loggin into my account has always been a pain...

I'm guessing the port over is complete. PB's network isn't showing on my old phone anymore. I can't log into my account either since the system won't send me a 'forgot your password' link.

Check to see if your Public Mobile services still work.

I remember that even after porting out from a Telus based company in the past (Koodo), the service does terminate immediately upon porting out, but the sim card does still connect the network and will appear to have a usable signal/connection. However, if you tried to place a call, you would receive a pre-recorded error message. That went on the remainder of the billing cycle even the the account had already been closed out. It's possible that the Public Mobile sim could be doing something similar.

But yes, any port out is suppsoed to cancel the old provider's service automatically.
