No, it won't work.

These phones are paperweights and obsolete. iDEN technology is not used in the country any more. In fact, these types of phones can't even make 911 calls here since there are no IDEN type networks remaining in Canada.

If you want to use a phone for basic usage, just grab a cheap one in one of those carriers in the store, even 7/11 would work in public mobile.
