Could you elaborate on the problem you're having? On which application are you using and what do you mean by recognize words? Are you talking about the auto-correct function that phones have?

Frig! It didn't even show the 3 words... Like the suggestions. None of them make sense. I have to type out entire words. I swear I'm not drunk! Haha

I did a quick google search:

go to Settings – System – Language and input.

Then select the keyboard you are using and press the Settings icon again.

You should be able to find a predictive text option on this screen.

This message board does not play nice with a lot of keyboards. There seems to be interference with word predictions and auto complete. I use gboard and that seems to happen a lot. I am not the only one suffering this problem. I see a lot of messages with scrambled words. Anyway, @loriann1969, consider using swiftkey or gboard. These are a couple of the top android keyboards out there.
