Hi @Kguz,

As @sheytoon mentioned, you have to get Bell to unlock it for you. What they do is submit a message to Apple who will then unlock it for you. After that, you'll need to sync your phone to iTunes. If all goes well, iTunes will indicate that your phone has been successfully unlocked.

I saw my cousin do my old BB once and it took him 5min

I think. Bell charges 50$, couldn't find anywhere else cheaper.

Also make sure you have latest firmware so that you can modify the APN.

Bottom line is no, you cannot bring a locked phone to Public Mobile, except for Telus.

You have to ask your service provider (Bell in this case) to unlock your phone before porting to Public Mobile. Cheers!

Iphones are a very different beast (as are most modern smartphones, actually). You can't just find the code online any more. You need to pay a third party unlocker. And for iPhones, third party unlockers cost as much (or more than) the providers do. With Bell, I *believe* you can get it unlocked for $75 if you're not a Bell customer ($50 if you are a customer). Other providers (coughROGERScough) won't unlock a phone for you at all if you're not a customer, which is complete BS incidentally (and should be a violation of the wireless code, but I think they're getting around this on a technicality based on the way the wireless code is worded).

@Kguz Non, Public Mobile ne débloquera les téléphones Telus / Koodo. Bell ne le débloquera que si vous avez un compte avec eux; Virgin mobile débloquera également un téléphone Bell si vous avez un compte là-bas. D'ailleurs, ce site semble être l'un des moins chers: http://www.mobifree.ca/unlock-bell-phones.
