My wife ran out of her 12 GB of data ( she learn the hard way).

So she's having issues with text message on her iPhone. Do I have to turn anything off on her iPhone like iMessage? I believe iMessage will now only work on wifi, but text threw PM will still work right? She just won't be able to browse since she used all her data.
Thank you and happy new year!!
