It's confusing but based on my understanding this is correct. Process is:

1. current plan expires Dec 27

2. system applies any Rewards to your account a few hours before midnight

3. at midnight Dec 28 system takes Available Funds to pay the balance; if insufficient charges your credit card

4. when system "sees" plan is paid account is (re)Activated

Available Funds are normally 1 time payments you have made by credit card, or vouchers you've added.

The dates are a single day apart. Your current plan ends on day x, your renewal happens early morning day x+1.

This is how it works.

I suspected it before, but it turned out to be not true. I think now that having Autopay ON is what somehow screws up the plan renewal process. I added funds manually via a single payment, and the renewal went on smoothly. More details here:

http://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Plans-Add-Ons/Issues-with-quot-Future-Dating-quot-your-rate-plan/td-p/81463/page/23
