what do you have in your Bell account, you can log in and see. I had my house number on mine. its the number they contact if there is a problem with the phone or you leave.

I don't think the alternate number has to match what was with your old provider had. As long as it isn't the number you are porting it is just so they can contact you if there are any issues

everything needs to match, if it doesnt it causes a hold up on the Port. When I was talking to Rogers they even asked for my alternative number just to do an online chat so they could verify my account. I think it is important that it matches but that just my opinion. I would use the same number that you have on file at Bell.

Rogers has never asked me for my alternate number for online customer service chat. When porting it gives you 3 options on how to identify your account with your old provider. The mandatory fields are an alternate number so PM can contact you as it is listed in your account profile and Authorization name which must match a name on your old account that is allowed to make changes.
