Hi, I activated my pm sim card last night. I am now able to make outgoing calls and send outgoing text messages, also the data seems to work nicely.

Unfortunately, I not able to receive either incoming texts or calls. Please let me know what I can do to solve this issue.

Hey thanks for the help.

I'm not sure if the old sim still works, it's from chatr. When people try calling me you can hear the chatr message saying I am currently not available (haven't had a plan with chatr for quite some time).

Guess I can cut up the sim card or call chatr and tell them I am trying to switch over to pm

Few days if not weeks). There are hundreds of customers who are having the same issue and Chatr cannot help you as this is a porting issue from PM side. Good luck.

Did you use the account number when porting
I recently ported a number from chatr and that number was inactive for 4 months, i called chatr and told them that i need the account number to port my number, on the porting request i used the account number and the pin on the account and the port was successful after about 30 minutes.

Hmm I'm not sure. I wanted to pay for this promo with vouchers, but after getting the most bizarre looks from convenience store attendants (these stores where listed on PM's website as being retailers that sell vouchers) I decided to buy a visa gift card to try and pay, of course this wouldn't work either. Then I had to ask my dad for his visa card and I gave him my sim number and I believe he was able to port my number, And I'm not sure was he typed in the various box's - guess I need to ask him. Oh, side note also visa debit would not be accepted, but let's get back on topic.

Should I call chatr and get my account number?

The phone was not "in service" for the past 60+days, actually surprised the sim still works, think my account still has about 5 or 6 bucks credit in it, maybe that's why- but it doesn't work for incoming or outgoing calls.

If I get this account number what should i do next? Go back onto pm self serve?

I had the old chatr sim out of the phone sitting on my coffee table, the new pm sim was in my phone. I'm sitting in Vancouver, while my dad helped me activate the pm sim (Victoria BC)

He paid, went through.

I reset my phone and see the pm on the top left of the phone and I'm ecstatic.

Only problem is incoming texts and calls do not work.

Haven't had a phone in a while so I'm pretty patient, but want to know what to do

I'm not an avid message board user, but it might be useful to put up a sticky for this because it seems to be such a common issue for new public mobile users. I'm ok waiting a few weeks, hopefully in 2 weeks someone will message me. The "sticky" threads usually stay at the top and go through a common problem and provide abcd steps and offer a solution
