Hi,

I just signed up for the 90 day plan promo. I am a new customer. When I placed my sim in Samsung Galaxy 4 and turned the phone on, I am getting a NO SIM card error. It is an unlocked phone. My wife is with public mobile and before signing up with public mobile, I placed her sim in my phone and it was working right away. I was with chatr before. Is there something wrong with the sim I received. I have tried to take the sim out sim twice already and placed it back in and it is not working. Please help anyone or the moderators @Jeremy_M.Thanks

Hussain

Hi,

The new SIM card works on my wife's phone but not in mine. But her own SIM card from public mobile works in mine. So I don't understand what is wrong? Do I need to unlock my phone for the new SIM card?

i don't think I tagged the right moderator. I have not received any response so I am tagging another one @Shazia_K.

Thanks for your help.

There could be slight variation in the sizes of the 2 different sim cards, and it's possible that your wife's phone is more tolerant to the difference.

I have managed to make my SIM card work on my phone. But I cannot receive calls. How long does it take to port my number from chatr to public mobile?

I also have no data right now. I went into APN settings and followed instructions to setup the "Mobile network" but data is still not working. I have also restarted my phone but data did not work. I have a samsung galaxy S4. Please help me fix these issues. Thank you

Hi

I had to apply more pressure on the SIM card so I cutout a small piece of paper from business card and placed it along with SIM card in the slot and it recognized the sim. I had to google this information otherwise I would be clueless.

I have never had a SIM card issue like this before. My chatr SIM card and my wife public mobile SIM card works on my phone.

Thanks - what size sim does your phone use?

I think this may be a triple-sim cutout issue for certain phones. I believe the nano-sim is lightly thinner than the micro-sim. So for the nano-sim to work, the triple-cut has to be the thinnest.

I will add this to my troubleshooting list.

My phone which is an S4 uses a micro sim. It looks the same size as my chatr sim. Maybe the new micro sim card from public mobile are more.lighter so they don't work on some older phones. The same sim works on my wife phone and she has samsung note 4.
