Remove voicemail forever

I saw a couple of threads about this but non of them was talking about complete removal of the voicemail service.

Is it possible? If yes, please advise how to proceed

No it is impossible. That's what the answers were in other threads, too.

I thought if you simply changed the forwarding number to nothing then that could disable voicemail

It doesn't let me to do it. Getting an error from network and reverts back to the voicemail number....

It might have been also an incomplete number ie 9 digits instead of 10
