My Iphone 6 is supported, but when I put the new Sim card in I get this message:

" The sim card that you currently have installed in this iphone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iphone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iphone be unlocked by your carrier."

I own my phone so it is no locked. I canceled my last plan. Any help would be great!

Thanks

If you got your iphone from a carrier before December 2017, then your phone is locked to which ever carrier it was with. Please call that carrier and they will unlock your phone for you. Very simple process.

Hi there,

I am not prompted for anything. I can't access anything either. All I get is that message. I've restarted my phone as well. Calling Bell right now to see if it is on their end with the locked business. Thank you for your replys.

You'll have to call Bell, they'll unlock the phone for you for free. If they give you any hassle with it just tell them you are travelling internationally and need to use it then.

you have to unlocked your phone.

when I ported my daughter's phone, it has as same message as you have.

So firt I contact the current provider and ask them to unlock the phone.

after 1 day, I ported my daughter's phone.

As iphone, you don't need to unlocked code, just ask the provider. they are going to contact Apple and unlock your phone. It is easy but you don't have account of the provider, you have to find a person who has account and ask to help it.

they ususally ask the reason why you need to unlocked the phone.

Just say, I am going to treavel to US, but roaming is expensive so that I want to buy a sim card and use it.

Even they unlocked you phone, you have to test it is unlocked with a different sim card.

If ok, ported to PM.

Good luck.

Why do you have to lie to get your phone unlocked? Don't providers have to unlock your phone by law now, no questions asked? Shouldn't they be able to use your IMEI number to identify your phone and then do what needs to be done?
