It's from some independent phone repair guy.

I bought the phone without a warranty so it's not covered at all

Hey all,

So I've had my LG G5 for just over a year and I haven't had issues with it like.. at all.

I was watching netflix in bed <STRIKE>like a champ</STRIKE>, and noticed on the left hand bottom side of the actual glass covering the screen is lifting. I can see a sliver of light and I got a quote that it'll be like 140 to fix.. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue and if they got it fixed or just invested in a new phone..

Also, I've been noticing lately that my phone is super slow to wake, either pressing the button or using fingerprint. It makes it seem like it's off. I try to hold the power button and nothing. No vibration asking me if I want to turn it off etc. Then suddenly, like 20 seconds later, everything works and is fine.

From what I saw on some forums it might be because of having the always on screen, but it's always been on so I am unsure. I suppose my next bet is to factory reset it.

Any input is great!

Is the $140 quote from a third party or directly from LG? If you haven't contacted LG, maybe give them a call.

https://www.lg.com/ca_en/support/warranty

@Noosh, from what I have read and feedback from friends who have owned LG phones, I am thoroughly convinced that G stands for garbage! I know tons of people who had G3s and not one didn't complain about something most infamously the boot loop. I know a lot less who own G4s. The biggest complaint was boot loop again. I know of one family that had 3 G4s, all suffered boot loop failure within the warranty period. I know nobody that owns a G5, could be lessons learned from the past. I would definitely not throw money at a repair. Sorry, for your bad experience with a bad line of phones. These days, I often say friends don't let friends buy LG phones.
