Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 slow down

Over the years this phone is doing crazier things like freezing etc., that it didn't do at first. Thinking of doing complete wipe/reinstall android (MIUI). I see 'xiaomiflashtools' website tells you how to do it, assuming it's a legit site. Would rather something on the actual mi website. Anyway, thought I'd ask if anyone has done this on a Xiaomi phone and what the result was?

never download OS from 3rd party site, dangerous

but you can simply wipe the phone and start fresh, it will help still

Can you do a factory reset of your phone?

Your phone is a 4-5 year old technology phone. Might be time to consider an upgrade to a new phone.

Well from what I read, factory reset doesn't do much in this regard. I just want to see what full reinstall does, for fun, but yes upgrade is due soon regardless.
