Traveling across Canada: Via rail anyone?

Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone has travelled across Canada by Via rail before (Or at least a long West to East trip). What was it like? Would you recommend doing it for fun? Is it only for train nerds or is the scenery worth it?

When I looked yeah it was way more than I expected

Surprisingly so

I had thought fun little trip for kids but at that price better to fly and spend an extra day or two at final destination

If you are single with very flexible work hours there are some GREAT promos available, but they will be on odd dates, kinda like those who hang out at airport for last minute tickets
