Stay Connected Underground: Introducing Public Mobile's Coverage on the TTC Subway

We all know that delays are just another part of the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) experience. While we can’t speed up the trains for you, we can certainly make those unexpected waiting periods more bearable. With Public Mobile’s new TTC subway coverage, those days are officially behind you. We're thrilled to announce that Public Mobile now offers mobile coverage in select portions of the TTC subway system. You can now catch up on emails, stream a new podcast episode, or even video call a friend to pass the time. After all, if you’re going to be stuck underground, you might as well be productive (or entertained).

Going Underground? No Problem

Now, you can talk, text, and browse with ease while commuting on the TTC. Whether you're headed to work, school, or exploring the diverse neighborhoods of Toronto, Public Mobile keeps you connected. This feature is live in various stations and their connecting tunnels, ensuring that you're never really 'off the grid.'

Seamless Commuting Experience

Your mobile experience is tailored for a consistent and seamless journey. In the enabled sections, both stations and tunnels, you'll have uninterrupted service throughout. If you find yourself in places where only the stations are network-enabled, worry not. You'll still enjoy uninterrupted service while 1) standing on the platform, or 2) aboard a stationary train.

Just keep in mind that your service will momentarily pause between stations until you reach the next enabled one.

Is this for 5G only plans?

@J_PM All plans have access to 3G, 4G, and 5G networks (assuming you have a capable device), so yes. Your plan just dictates max speed, not which network you can connect to. Even a 3G plan can use the 4G and 5G networks.

Ok. I was just going by the first time this was announced that the connection would be only 5g. Maybe I misinterpreted.

As I said, 3G plans can still access the 5G network.
