The creation of Koodo and Public Mobile were about saving money. To help folks get an affordable cell phone plan. The idea behind it is so everyone in Canada can have a cell phone. The problem is, for example, is some of these plans go from one part of the spectrum to another. Case in point.

$25 1GB is offered. Then the next plan up is $39 for 20GB. How does Public Mobile go from 1GB to 20GB package in one swoop? How about some middle ground like a 10GB offer.

This is the current offers.

$15 100 Talk Unlimited incoming and unlimited texts 250mb data

$25 Unlimited talk/text 1GB

$39 Unlimited talk/text 20GB

$45 Unlimited talk/text 30GB

There are more plans but the point of this topic is to show that Public Mobile is missing the mark. This is what it should be.

$10 Unlimited talk/text No data

$15 Unlimited talk/text 1GB

$25 Unlimited talk/text 5GB

$35 Unlimited talk/text 10GB

Remember, Public Mobiles original birth was about saving money and making affordable plans. My suggestion, would be a step in the right direction. Plus I feel it would bring way more subscribers to the service. Isn't that the point?

I welcome all feedback.

i Agree! However, we live in an age where data is very prominent. If there would be a way to have affordable data plans, i’m sure Public Mobile will have more customers.

The bottom line for any mobile company is profit. I am not privy to Public mobile marketing strategy, but it seems like Public mobile is changing directions on their marketing. Adding 5G plans, eSIM and higher data plans is trying to attract more higher data users to Public mobile. Competing against the higher tier companies.

I guess one $40-$50 customer is equivalent to two to three $15 or $25 customers. The $40-$50 5G, US plans seems quite popular right now. It will be interesting to see what unfolds in the next few months.

I do understand that. But I have a Telus $40 5GB account already. I just don't see the point of having 3 tiers offering the same thing. Makes no logical sense.

I think the $25 Plan should include 3-5GB of Data, it would make it alot more enticing and alot more people would switch to Public from other Providers. Even if it was 3G Speeds.

I totally agree. Last year (Sep 2022) we got our son a $10, Unlimited Talk/text +1GB plan with Shaw. Unfortunately, when we got our daughter's phone, Rogers started the transition and his plan no longer exists for new users, so Public seemed the best alternative, but still, it could be better.
