Following are the method with which sim error will be fixed:

  • Disassemble(loose) the Nokia 530.
  • Clean the panel off dust.
  • Check the simcard jack.
  • Read the simcard jack to the panel.
  • If is ok and power the phone it still shows insert sim, sim missing, sim error or sim invalid.
  • Then follow the image below and locate the simcard ic and replace the ic.
  • Done check Nokia Lumia 530 and the sim missing message will disappear.
  • Will get full network

Check Nokia Lumia 530 Manual for another troubleshooting options.

I tried with a Wind card and doesnt work too, so my phone was working with a chip from Brazil then probably is just a country think, and will not work here.

Thanks for the help 😉

I did some tests and the only way to generate the "No SIM" message was with no sim installed, or the sim installed incorrectly. With inactive SIMs from three different carriers the message was "No Service".

Therefore either your phone's sim contacts have failed or you accidently reassembled the nano sim into the micro frame incorrectly.

Think you are in the market for a new phone. Smiley Frustrated

No, I never used this phone here, I think is a phone problem, the chip is ok, but today i'll get a chip from a friend to test, the last chance 🙂

Thanks.

I found this information about your phone frequencies that suggests it only has 1 of the 3G (UMTS) frequencies (850). I don't know if this would make the PM sim incompatible. Will keep looking.

  • Other names
    RM-1018, RM-1020
  • GSM frequencies
    850 900 1800 1900
  • Standard UMTS
    850 900 2100

Thanks for the update. Have you ever used this phone in Canada? I am really wondering if it is either locked to a Brazil carrier, or just has the wrong frequencies.

Just to say that I tried all options except another sim card, maybe tomorrow, i'll let you know.

And my sim card is not detected, so i can't change the 3g, 2g, 4g network.

Thanks

Hey @chukdefatey Good to see you about. Any thoughts on this thread?

Yet another thought:

in cellular network settings select 3G rather than auto. Maybe the phone is searching for a 2G connection.

Ok @Luddite i'll try all and give feedback later.

Thanks for you time.

OK here's some additional grasping at straws:

a) check for corrosion on the sim contacts in your phone & clean them,

b) try a different carrier activated sim card,

c) scotch tape on the back of the sim to tighten the fit,

d) do a complete factory reset,

e) get a new PM sim.

@andreaamado yeah everything points to it working correctly.

Since your phone is dual SIM, have you tried the PM SIM in both slots?  Any difference between them?

Where did you buy the phone from? Can't seem to find any support for it on Microsoft's Support Page to send you in the right direction...

Hi @liamandrew94, yes I'm using the card with the PM adapter fixed, I removed many times, I updated my old phone, tried in both ports and the card is perfect and working well on my iPhone 😞

Hi @andreaamado, just some clarification questions:

- Are you using the correct size of SIM card?

- Have you tried removing the SIM card, closing the tray, and reinserting?

- Have you tried placing the SIM card in the tray in all possible ways?

- Is there any debris or dust in your SIM card compartment?
